Chancellor George Osborne will deliver the government’s budget plans for the coming year today.

Mr Osborne is rumoured to be considering a rise in the personal tax allowance, the amount which can be earned before income tax is paid.

Finance schemes, tax breaks and incentives to help businesses grow are also said to be part of today’s budget.

Plans to offer £2,000 in subsidised childcare for working families, a rise in the national minimum wage to £6.50 per hour and help for aspiring home owners have already been announced.
