Cast members, Chris Hannon and Sam Nixon, visited creative hotspot, Tileyard North, and bed shop, The Sleep Zone, for pre-promotional activity that will be used to build up the excitement to the anticipated pantomine.

The pair were given access to industry leading sound equipment when they visited the professional podcast studio at Tileyard North to record the 40-second radio advert.

Putting the final edits to the footage, the content has now gone live and will be aired on smart speakers and Greatest Hits Radio West Yorkshire throughout the season run.

Turning attention to the trailer, which is shared across the theatre’s social media channels, the team then headed down to The Sleep Zone, a bed shop in the city centre.

Providing the space for free, and clearing the room to limit any interruptions, managers at the store allowed the cast to capture the footage, including scenes of Chris, dressed as the pantomime dame, jumping on the beds.

Kealey Woodward, head of communications and programme from Theatre Royal Wakefield, said: “We’ve said it before and we will say it again, the support from businesses across the Wakefield District has always been phenomenal.

"Along with our main sponsors, Trinity Walk, we would like to send a huge shout out to Tileyard North and also to The Sleep Zone.

“The time and effort that goes into bringing these productions to life behind the scenes cannot be underestimated, and it’s thanks to this support that we can add some real personality to the content that we create.

“We can’t wait to see how the audience reacts to both the radio advert and the trailer!”

Theatre Royal Wakefield’s pantomime for 2023, which is sponsored by Trinity Walk shopping centre, is an extra special adaptation of the fairytale classic, Sleeping Beauty, with performances running from Tuesday, November 28 to Sunday, January 7 – with tickets starting from £15.
