With some businesses slowly opening their doors again to customers, following the government's new guidelines, the Express wants to support our local traders.

To help #supportlocal we're asking any local businesses to let us know if they are either now open or planning to open again soon.

Here are just a few that have been in touch so far - sp keep letting us know and we'll add you to the list.

Thornton Jones Solicitors said: "We are still serving our clients both old a new via telephone, email and Zoom video calls and we are hopeful of re-opening our offices soon. We are super busy putting in place all of the necessary safety controls (face masks, screens, hand wash etc) so that our colleagues and clients can stay safe."

Danielle Monden said: "The shop is currently closed, but still trading on line www.hiddenprettygifts.co.uk. Fingers crossed the shop reopens June 1."

The barbers on Westmorland Street, Wakefield, say they hope to reopen on July 4.

Expressions hair salon

Elaine Agar said: "Expressions hair salon will hopefully be reopen in July. Getting all prepared with hand sanitizers, wipes and masks. The shop will sanitized after each client. We look forward to going back!"

High Street Fisheries, Ferrybridge

Graeme Leach said: "Open Thursday 12pm-4pm, Friday 12pm-4pm and Saturday 11.30am-1.30pm. Will hopefully be fully open shortly. Come down to meet Donna and William for fantastic fish and chips!"
