AM Services specialise in manufacturing sound-proofing equipment with recycled plastic, and save thousands of bottles from landfill each year.

At the start of the pandemic, they began adapting their work to create portable social distancing screens for schools, restaurants and businesses.

And the team have now donated two portable social distancing barriers to the hospice.

Owner Alan Mohan said: "When lockdown came into place we wanted to play our part in tackling the crisis, after a few days at home I realised I could alter one of our sound proofing designs into a social distancing barrier which would help businesses reopen safely.

"At the same time charities are finding it harder than ever to fundraise so I thought that part of the profits could benefit two local organisations Wakefield Hospice and the Build a Girl social enterprise both continuing to deliver vital services during these challenging times."

AM Services donate a portion of all profits to Wakefield Hospice, as well as the Built a Girl social enterprise, their second charity partner, but hope that the new screens will provide an immediate and practical assistance to the hospice.

Keeley Harrison, Fundraising Manager at Wakefield Hospice, said: “Thank you to Alan and the team at AM Services for thinking of us. It’s been such a challenging time for all businesses and the screens are a great idea.

"We very much appreciate the support and hope the screens will help organisations to stay safe.”
