Across Wakefield and the Five Towns, these are the schools which currently have closures in place as a result of Covid-19.

From today (Monday, December 14), the self-isolation period has been lowered from 14 days to 10.

Sandal Castle (VA) Community Primary

One class bubble remains closed at Sandal Castle Community Primary, after a single case of Covid-19 was confirmed.

Children in class 6FW were asked to self-isolate last week, and will be allowed to return to school from Thursday, December 17.

Oyster Park Primary School

Three class bubbles are closed at Oyster Park Primary School in Castleford, after a member of the school community tested positive for Covid-19.

Class bubbles in years 2, 5 and 6 closed to students on December 7. Affected pupils will be allowed to return to school on Tuesday, December 15.

Normanton Newlands Primary School

One class bubble is closed at Normanton Newlands Primary School.

Students in Year 4, class Edinburgh 2, have been required to isolate until Saturday, December 19.

Knottingley St Botolph's C of E Academy

Two lower key stage 2 classes have been sent home from school following a positive case of Covid-19.

Bubbles in Year 3 and Year 4 have been asked to self-isolate for 10 days from December 11, meaning they will not be able to return to school until after the Christmas holidays.

Fitzwilliam Primary School

Three classes at Fitzwilliam Primary School are currently closed, following a number of confirmed cases in the community.

The Year 2 class bubbled closed on December 3, while Year 4 and Year 5 bubbles closed on December 11.

All three year groups will be required to self-isolate, and will not be allowed to return to school until after the school holidays.

The Featherstone Academy

The Year 10 bubble at Featherstone Academy closed on December 11, following contact with a positive case.

Pupils have been asked to self isolate, and will be allowed to return to school in January, following the school holidays.

Dane Royd J & I School

A Year 2 bubble at Dane Royd School will remain closed into the Christmas holidays, following contact with a person who tested positive for the virus.

Pupils were first asked to isolate on December 11, and will be allowed to return to school in January.

Alverthorpe St. Paul's CE (VA) School

Students in the Year 4 bubble at Alverthorope St Paul's have been asked to isolate following a positive case.

Members of the bubble began self-isolating on December 2, and will be allowed to return to school on December 16.
