The initiative has come from Ackworth Parish Church whose community has experienced first-hand how difficult and overwhelming it has been for those working on the frontline of the pandemic. The Bishop of Wakefield, the Rt Revd Tony Robinson said: “It has been a tough year for our nursing staff – especially during this second wave of Covid.

They have had to work in exceptional circumstances and we don’t want their hard work to go unnoticed.”

You can drop off your gift at the cathedral from 11.30-2.30pm every day until noon December 13.
