These are all the changes in restrictions which will come into force in Wakefield and the Five Towns from Monday, March 29, as part of the first step of the easing of lockdown, and the rules which will change when step two is introduced, no earlier than Monday, April 12.
1. Step 1, second phase: March 29
From Monday, March 29, the government's roadmap out of lockdown says that people can meet outside, including in private gardens. Groups of up to six people or two households will be allowed to meet across the district, but are still forbidden from mixing indoors.

Outdoor sport and leisure facilities will also be allowed to reopen, and formally organised outdoor sport for children and adults can return. Outdoor parent and child groups of up to 15 parents will also resume.
3. Step 1, second phase: March 29
The stay at home rule will also end, though many restrictions will stay in place. People should continue to work from home where they can and minimise the number of journeys they make, avoiding travel at the busiest times and routes. Holidays abroad will not be allowed.
4. Step 2: not before 12 April
Non-essential retail and personal care premises, including hairdressers and nail salons, will be allowed to reopen once step 2 is introduced. It will be the first time since early January that many shops in Wakefield and the Five Towns are allowed to open. Social distancing restrictions and rules around masks will return.
