Public Health England confirms 429th case of coronavirus in Wakefield

The latest figures, released by Public Health England today, reveal that 429 people in the district have now tested positive for Covid-19.
This means there is now roughly one confirmed case for every 804 people living in the district.

Hide AdThis does not include those who may have contracted the virus and self-isolated, but have not been formally been tested.
It comes as NHS England confirms that there have been 161 coronavirus-related deaths at hospitals run by the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust.
It is understood that all coronavirus patients are now being treated at Pinderfields Hospital, though the Trust is also responsible for Pontefract and Dewsbury hospitals.

Hide AdFigures released by the Office for Statistics also show that, in the period up to April 10, there were 13 deaths outside of hospitals in which Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
This included nine in care homes, two at hospices and two at home.
There are now more than 2,300 confirmed cases on the virus in West Yorkshire, including 1,010 confirmed cases in Leeds, 456 in Kirklees, 618 in Bradford and 200 in Calderdale
