These are all the confirmed coronavirus outbreaks and cases in the Wakefield district

The Boot & Shoe and The Angel, in Ackworth, closed last week after a customer reached out to tell them that he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Anna Hartley, Director of Public Health at Wakefield Council, has now confirmed that both closures were linked to one case.

She said: “We have been made aware that a man who visited two pubs in Ackworth has tested positive for COVID-19. We would like to reassure residents, that given the timescales, the risk of the virus being passed on to other people visiting the pubs is low, we are not aware of any further cases at this time.

“We have been in touch with pubs to advise them on the latest Government guidance on cleaning procedures and social distancing. And we are working with the NHS test and trace system to identity those who may have been in contact with the person.

“Residents are reminded to follow the latest guidance on regular handwashing and social distancing to help keep yourself and others safe.”

Both pubs have now reopened to customers.

But they were not the first closures that had been ordered.

These are all the coronavirus outbreaks that have been confirmed in the district as of midday on Monday, July 13.

What are the latest figures?

According to the latest figures, there have been a total of 1,691 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Wakefield district.

This number more than doubled last week, when commercial testing results were included in official figures for the first time.

At least 325 people have died at hospitals run by the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHs Trust after testing positive for Covid-19, as well as 81 people in the district's care homes.

Which factories have confirmed outbreaks?

Two of the district's factories have also had outbreaks of coronavirus in recent weeks.

The first was Forza Foods, in Normanton, which confirmed on Thursday, July 2 that a total of 17 members of staff had tested positive for coronavirus.

Parent company Asda said the results represented just one per cent of their staff on site, and they had begun isolating and testing all staff who worked on the affected shift.

The facility remained operational.

The following week, a second outbreak was reported at Ossett's Deep Sleep Beds, with four confirmed cases.

Staff were offered testing, or told to self-isolate where appropriate.

What happened at Urban House?

Later that week, a third outbreak was confirmed at an accommodation centre for asylum seekers in the city.

A "small number" of cases were confirmed at the property on Love Lane, and the council repeated that the risk to the public remained small.
