Osset's Family Fit, Running Fit and Fighting Fit has kick-started a group for the whole community to get involved in, keeping each other motivated and active during the coronavirus pandemic.

The new group, Fit Together, was launched last week and has already seen more than 200 members sharing exercise tips, PE ideas for children and fun ways to keep active as we spend more time at home.

Paula Appleton, Dale Smith and Andy Freeman started the group after the government announced tight restrictions this week.

Paula said: “People are restricted from accessing fitness groups to exercise and this affects them.

“We wanted to try and create somewhere where people can share their exercises to inspire, encourage and motivate each other.

“It's important for people to exercise whether it be running, walking or cycling, for their mental health and wellbeing.”

The group is designed for people to post in their own exercise routines and share any tips for PE lessons with the children.

Paula said: “We encourage people to share videos and selfies of what they have been up to.

"It's very visual and it will motivate people to join in.

“People have joined who we didn’t know from the previous groups, so it's great that we are reaching people.

“Everyone is welcome to join - the more ideas the better - if we can’t be together we can still build an online community and work together”
