The kind hearted youngster wanted to raise funds for Hull based charity, 'Life For A Kid', which helps children under the age of 16 by offering funds and equipment to help them lead a better life - they also help children who require life saving operations, children with autism and special educational needs.

On his journey, Leo was accompanied by his dad, Jim, who is an active fund raiser for the charity.

Jim Cain: “For some time now I have been fundraising for ‘Life For A Kid’, I help raise funds via The Rugby League All Stars, who are a rugby team that play against clubs to help raise funds.

“Leo has been to every fundraising game I’ve featured in, he loves these games and loves to help us raise money - but sadly due to Covid, the All Stars games have been postponed.

“I had a chat with Leo and he said he wanted to help raise some money for ‘Life for a Lid’ and as Leo is becoming an avid biking fan, we decided to look at a bike ride and it was decided that Leo would ride 55 miles, the distance from our home to the Life for a Kid centre in Hull.

“Now, as Leo is only 6 years old, we decided it was a lot to do in a day so decided to do the distance of the journey, over the course of 7 days.”

Dean Hoggard, Founder & Head Of Operations at Life For A Kid Foundation said: “What Leo is doing for the Life For A kid charity with his 110 mile bike ride is absolutely amazing, its fantastic to see children pushing themselves to extremes to help other children.

“The money he has raised so far is a huge help for the Life For A kid foundation, especially at this troubling time, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the charity has had to cancel all of our fundraising events so the fundraising in whole is not going great.

“This means when someone comes along like Leo to help the charity and does it all of his own back it’s a huge help for the foundation.”
