'Top food is putting Wakefield on the map' says Rate My Takeaway critic

When it comes to food and drink Wakefield is up there with the best.

That’s the verdict from the host of social media platform Rate My Takeaway, Danny Malin.

The charismatic Northern food enthusiast has delivered his verdict on a second Wakefield takeaway in about as many weeks.

This time it was Westgate End “dirty burger” joint Bear Kitchen.

The video is posted on Rate My Takeaway’s Facebook page and the host offered a massive endorsement on the quality of food in the city.

He said: “If you want a burger and wedges that’s something different, made with love and kindness, get yourself down to Bear Kitchen.

“They are getting a 10 in my book. They are putting Wakefield on the map. Wakey is up there now.”

He said Rate My Plate would have to do a bit of travelling to find a city with places as good as what Wakefield has to offer right now.

He said: “We need to get around the country and find some place to rival these because they know what they’re doing in this city.

“They know what they want in their hearts and they know what they want in their bellies.”

The social media platform’s first trip to the city was to review Abdul’s curry house off Dewsbury Road.

The verdict was another perfect 10.

And the Express is no stranger to the culinary delights of Wakefield.
