Drive-in cinema planned for rugby ground

A drive-in cinema will be set up at Featherstone Rovers' ground, with six box-office smash hits films lined up across a single weekend.

The club, in association with Blue Sky Cinema and Millennium Support, will be bringing the movie experience to the Millennium Stadium car park, starting next Friday, July 31.

Viewers will be able to watch the movies from the comfort of their cars but in a socially distanced and safe manner.

The first movie aired next Friday at 8pm will be the 2004 romantic drama, The Notebook.

The 1978 musical, Grease, will be screened on Saturday, August 1 at 6pm, with 2019 Elton John biography drama, Rocketman, shown at 9pm.

Three films will be screened on Sunday, August 2, starting with the time-travel classic movie Back to the Future at 3pm, musical Mamma Mia! at 5.30pm and last year's Oscar-winning film, Joker shown at 8pm.
