Excitement is mounting ahead of the start of the final day’s racing of the first Tour De Yorkshire.
The entourage for the tour has rolled into Wakefield.
Team buses and the tour’s control centre have set up in the city centre ahead of the ceremonial start at 12.15pm on Northgate close to Wakefield Cathedral.
Some of the world’s elite riders will then ride past the Hepworth and towards Castle Grove park for the official race start , around about 12.30 pm on Barnsley Road close to the junction of Agbrigg Road.
The teams will then head out towards Newmillerdam and Woolley. The race finishes in Leeds later this afternoon.
Already the celebrations are starting in the city centre with alternative forms of cycling, including unicyclists, riding around the Bullring and other entertainment .
School children from around the city are also taking part in rides before the professional riders take to the Wakefield streets.
Team Sky rider Lars-Petter Nordhaug is in the lead going into the final day’s racing.
And crowds are also gathering on Northgate to get a glimpse of the first English man to win the Tour De France Sir Bradley Wiggins.
