Ackworth man admits string of sex attacks on children

A FORMER cruise ship worker from Ackworth has admitted carrying out a string of sex attacks on 13 youngsters while working in a children’s activity area.

Paul Trotter, 34, of Doncaster Road Estate, filmed himself sexually abusing young boys - most of whom were under the age of 13 years - on three Cunard cruise liners between December 20, 2010, and January 5, 2011.

Trotter, who was working as a children’s activity supervisor for the cruise company, admitted 12 counts of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 and one count of sexual activity with a child under the age of 13 at Swindon Crown Court today (Friday).

He also pleaded guilty to five counts of taking indecent images of a child, five of making indecent images of a child and one of possessing indecent images of a child.

Trotter, who was living in Wiltshire at the time of his arrest, was remanded into custody until he is sentenced on Friday, May 11.

Trotter, who has worked on flagship cruise liners the Queen Mary 2 and its sister vessel the Queen Elizabeth, is no longer employed by Cunard.
