Air cadets from across the region marched to success when they took part in a regional competition.
Squadrons from Pontefract and Castleford competed in the South and West Yorkshire Wing Drill Competition.
Youngsters from Pontefract finished second out of 33 squadrons and Staff Cadet Flight Sergeant Jordan Cawar, who led the march, won the Pace Stick individual award for his efforts.
Squadron Commander Steph Ford said: “The cadets have done themselves and their unit proud and I am very pleased for Jordan who was unbelievably good on the day.
“He has to learn all of the words of command and hold his nerve during the competition to confidently lead the cadets to success.”
Cadets from Castleford finished in tenth in the competition.
Flt Lt Vicky Williamson said: “Getting a top ten finish really is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of all those cadets involved in the drill team.
“The cadets really did step up to the mark against fierce competition and myself and the rest of team are extremely proud of each and every single one of them.”
