And resident artist Jeremy Ford will be signing copies of his book throughout the day.

The Artworld Gallery offers local artists the opportunity to showcase their talent and sell their artwork.

It was launched following the success of a pop-up art gallery in the shopping centre.

Sandra Bradbury, manager of Artworld Gallery, said: “Both myself and the artists have been overwhelmed by the success of the initial 12 months, so we could not let our 1st birthday pass without a special celebration.

“We are extremely excited about our future plans for the gallery with even bigger and better trading predicted.

“In the meantime, we hope that shoppers help us to celebrate our special day by joining in the festivities.”

Victoria Clapham, Ridings’ marketing manager said: “We are extremely pleased that Artworld Gallery has experienced a successful first year of trading.

“The gallery has offered something new to Wakefield and has proved popular with shoppers who enjoy being able to purchase bespoke pieces from local artists at an affordable price.”
