Staff and customers at the Pontefract and Castleford branches of Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank have raised almost £11,500 for the Prince of Wales Hospice over the last decade.

As well as match funding, staff organised raffles and hampers and placed collection tins in store to raise the money.

It is part of a fundraising partnership between Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, which are owned by CYBG, and Hospice UK. The initiative has collected more than £6m for 124 hospices.

Linda Morgan, customer banking centre manager at the Pontefract branch, said: “The staff in our branches have first-hand experience of the fantastic job The Prince of Wales Hospice does in caring for those in need. It provides a vital lifeline in our community and raising funds to help support this great organisation is the least we can do. We are grateful to our customers and partners who have helped us raised almost £11,500 over the last ten years - it’s been a great team and community effort.”

Tracey Mearns, from the hospice, said: “The support from both local branches of Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks over the past decade has been incredible.”
