Beer festival aims to drum up funds for Candlelighters and a cricket club.

A beer festival is set to raise funds for a children’s cancer charity and for a city cricket club.

The East vs West Beer Festival will be staged at The Red Shed, Vicarage Street, Wakefield on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.

The event is being organised by Malcolm Bastow, of Five Towns Brewery.

It will feature 11 beers from Yorkshire and 11 from Lancashire.

Mr Bastow, of Outwood, is doing the fundraiser for children’s cancer charity, Candlelighters, and for Newton Hill Cricket Club.
