Book of condolence opened for Castleford Tigers chairman Jack Fulton

A book of condolence has been opened for Castleford Tigers fans to pay tribute to its chairman Jack Fulton who died last week at the age of 83.

Mr Fulton, who suffered from motor neurone disease, founded frozen food company Fultons Foods in 1960 and became chairman at Castleford RLFC in the early 1990s.

Castleford Tigers announced his death on Tuesday, September 29 - just a day after the club was granted planning permission for its new 10,000-capacity stadium.

The book of condolence will be available to sign in store at the Tigers Den, in Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre, Castleford, until Friday.

Mr Fulton’s funeral will be held on Monday, October 12 at noon at St Robert’s Catholic Church, Robert Street, Harrogate, North Yorkshire. A private cremation service will follow.

A wake will then be held at the Pavilion at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

A club spokeswoman said Tigers’ fans are welcome at the church and the Showground.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and St Michael’s Hospice.
