British Transport Police confirm name of man hit by a train at South Elmsall station

A man who died after being hit by a train at South Elmsall Railway Station has been named.

A British Transport Police spokesman (BTP) said: “I can confirm that the man who died after being struck by a train between South Elmsall railway station on Friday 11 April 2014, was Matthew Stringer, aged 26, of Town Avenue, Huddersfield.

“The incident, which was reported to BTP just after 7.30pm on Friday April 11, is being treated as non-suspicious.

“Officers are assisting in the preparation of a report for the coroner.”
