Youngsters from the Brotherton Bulldogs are ready to ‘ruck and roll’ in their new team tracksuits, thanks to Junction 32.

The Under Sevens rugby team manager Amanda Howe made a wish at the shopping outlet’s Wishing Machine in December and was delighted when staff said they would sponsor 30 tracksuits. The players visited Junction 32 at Glass Houghton to show off their new attire.

Samantha Ward, marketing manager at Junction 32, said: “Supporting local causes is very important to us here at Junction 32, so when we received Amanda’s wish we knew we had to help.

“The players all looked very professional in the tracksuits and they were all beaming with pride.

“I look forward to seeing them out and about in the coming months and would like to thank Amanda for getting in touch and making this possible.”

The Wishing Machine was part of Junction 32’s Christmas Wish campaign, which welcomed shoppers across the county to nominate anyone they thought was deserving of something extra special.

Ms Howe, who has been managing the team for five years, said: “When I saw the Wishing Machine at Junction 32 I thought it would certainly be worth making a wish for new tracksuits for our youngsters. Each and every one of them works so hard in training and at matches and I wanted to give them something to be proud of.

“I didn’t think I would hear anything else as I imagine they received thousands of wishes, so I was over the moon when they got in touch. The team look fantastic in them and we will be wearing them with pride everywhere we go.”
