Bruno the dog is off to Scruffts

Rescue dog Bruno will be putting his best paw forward on Sunday in the semi finals of Scruffts.

The crossbreed dog from Midgley, pictured centre above, is off to London with owner Trudy Hyman to the Good Citizen Dog Scheme semi final after beating off competition in the Yorkshire heats.

If the duo win at ExCel London convention centre they will be on their way to the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts, to compete in the Scruffts final next March.

Bruno’s owner Trudy said: “Bruno was with Moorview Rescue, Pateley Bridge from just five-months-old. I found him and took him in when he was nine months, although a bit of a handfull at the time, with a bit of work and love he is now a great dog, such a loving and loyal dog full of character.

“Bruno has worked hard at his Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Award and I am sure he will impress the judges at Scruffts.”

Bruno was amongst more than 1,800 dogs who have taken part in the Scruffts heats this year, raising more than £3,600 for the Kennel Club Charitable Trust and each event’s chosen charity.
