Businesses to offer advice in National Apprenticeship Week

Businesses will take part in a roadshow to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week.

A hub will be visiting town centres offering a one stop shop for young people and school leavers.

They will provide careers advice and talk about apprenticeship opportunities across the district.

National Apprenticeship Week takes place between Monday, March 9 and Friday, March 13.

Coun Denise Jeffery, cabinet member for economic growth and skills, said: “This roadshow will provide a range of information and guidance to both young people and also businesses who want to find out more about these valuable opportunities.

“Apprenticeships are becoming a popular choice amongst youngsters giving them the chance to earn a wage whilst they learn important skills and experience for the future. I encourage everybody to come along and find out more.”

The roadshow will stop at:

Langthwaite House Cark Park on Monday, March 9, from 7am to 11am

Minsthorpe Academyon on Monday, March 9 from noon to 3pm.

Pontefract Town Centre on Wednesday, March 11 from 10am to 4pm.

Hemsworth Town Centre on Thursday, March 12 from 10am to 4pm.

Junction Inn Car park, Normanton, on Friday, March 13 from 10am to 4pm.
