Wakefield Council is inviting people to go along and take part in the next Cabinet on Tour event.
It takes place on Tuesday September 6 at Pontefract Town Hall from 10.30am-noon.
Wakefield Council’s Cabinet meets regularly to discuss the district’s important issues as well as hearing reports about the different council functions. The reason for taking Cabinet meetings around the district, ‘on tour’ is to make it easier for people to attend.
These meetings are where key decisions are made following discussion between all elected members.
Residents are being invited to attend, and will have an opportunity to ask the panel of Cabinet members questions at the end of the meeting.
Council Leader, Coun Peter Box CBE, said: “These events are all about making it easier for people to get involved in the democratic process and to ask us about the issues that matter the most to them.
“I’d like to encourage people to come along to the next Cabinet on Tour meeting where they will be warmly welcomed.”
People can tweet their questions on the day to @mywakefield and councillors will answer as many as possible.
The meeting will be streamed live on the day, or can be seen on the Council’s website later. For further information and to watch the video visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/yoursay
Cabinet on Tour takes place throughout the year at venues across the district. The dates for forthcoming meetings are November 29 2016, and February 14 and May 9 2017.
All the meetings will be from 10.30am-noon.
Venues will be confirmed closer to the time.
