Camera club's talent in focus at competition

The 56th Annual Competition at Normanton Camera Club saw members display their best work from the past year.

Andrew Rothery and Marilyn Roberts were the judges.

Judith Macbeth LRPS stormed to the winning post with several firsts including ‘Shy Water Carrier’.

Judith’s print entitled ‘Big Guns’ won sport, action, photojournalism and was the best print in the competition.

Among the many other winners at the event was Ken Breare FRPS who won the open mono category with ‘Fishing the Dyke’.

John Boyd DPAGB LRPS won the nature trophy with ‘Down the Robin’s Hatch’ and this was also the best PDI in the competition.

John also won PDI sections with ‘Working Cocker Spaniel’ in people, portrait and figure studies and ‘the final bend’ in sport, action, photojournalism.

Marjorie Furmston FRPS APAGB won the’ scape print with ‘Holiday Playtime’ and ‘Storm Light at Whitby’ for PDI altered reality and ‘Pathway to Buttermere’ for PDI Scapes.

Tony Furmston’s FRPS APAGB ‘Faskally Lake’ came first in altered reality print and his ‘Stained Glass, Drumm Castle’won the architecture and record PDI.

Gail Barton’s ‘Pip’ mono print won the people, portrait and figure studies section and her ‘Purple Haze’ achieved first in the open PDI.

The print with most imaginative name went to Sue Oates’ ‘A glimpse into the fuchsia’ and she won the architecture and record mono- with her ‘Section of Botin Exhibition Centre, Santander’.

Gerry Padgett LRPS DPAGB APAGB achieved first for ‘Break Time’ colour print.

Chris Gowland won the beginner’s print section with his portrait of ‘Steven’.
