Castleford’s Gale in running for Super League player of month

Following his impressive start to the new season Castleford Tigers half-back Luke Gale has made the shortlist for the First Utility Super League player of the month for February.

Sponsors First Utility has this afternoon revealed the nominations for the Official First Utility Super League Player of the Month competition for February, which lets fans vote for the league’s most outstanding players.

Castleford star Gale has made the shortlist of five after helping the Tigers to an unbeaten start to 2016.

As well as his play on the pitch his goal kicking has been vital too with 13 goals already to his name, plus a crucial drop-goal in the game against Hull FC which led to a 31-24 victory.

Fans who feel that Gale deserves to be the First Utility Super League Player of the Month should vote at www.Facebook.com/FirstUtilitySuperLeague

Gale’s rivals are: Danny Houghton, of Hull FC; Robert Lui, of Salford Red Devils; Chris Sandow, of Warrington Wolves; and Corey Thompson, of Widnes Vikings.

Back for the 2016 season, the First Utility Player of the Month gives fans the opportunity to vote for the league’s most outstanding player. Five worthy players will make up the monthly shortlist, before supporters have the chance to vote for the final two via the First Utility Super League Facebook page.

The two players with the most votes will then be considered by a judging panel consisting of representatives from First Utility and League Express, before the overall winner is revealed.

Every fan who votes will be entered into a prize draw, with one lucky supporter getting the chance to present the First Utility Super League Player of the Month trophy to the winning player.

Fans have until 3pm on March 3 to register their votes for February’s First Utility Super League Player of the Month award.
