Jack’s performance prompted some strong comments from the judges last night but his X Factor dream continues.

Speaking after his performance judge Simon Cowell said: “As a recording artist I think you could be really good, but it was like you were invited to a party and you didn’t want to be there.

“You looked uncomfortable. Mel needs to work out what kind of artist you want to be.”

Mel B said: “This is the thing, we have had a bit of backwards and forwards with issues this week and it showed. Moving forward, if you make it through, we need to make these discussions happen much earlier.

“You know what I am talking about. There were last minute changes made….not by me…

Louis Walsh said: “I think you are one of the most talented young people here but I didn’t love the song choice and I was bored in the middle. I think you can do better than that.”

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said: “I like you Jack and I normally like what you do. You need to use the stage a bit more and perform more.”

Jack, of Aketon Road, will now take to the stage for the fourth week of live shows on Saturday.
