After being handed a wildcard by judge Simon Cowell, Jack, of Aketon Road, was greeted with huge cheers after he performed Rihanna’s Only Girl In The World last night.

Now, the 18-year-old will take to the stage in the second week of the live shows on Saturday after Blonde Electra and boy band Overload Generation were sent home from the ITV talent show.

Speaking after his performance last night judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said: “Yes, Jack! That was such an amazing song choice. I would never have thought to put a twist on that song.”

Simon Cowell said: “I love that you are honest. The chicks are going to love you. I think it’s a job well done.”

Louis Walsh added: “Simon, you did Mel a big favour by putting Jack through because he deserves it.”
