Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has revealed that talks are under way with several players who are out of contract at the end of the 2016 season.

First team stars including Oliver Holmes, Ben Roberts, Andy Lynch, Adam Milner and Luke Dorn have just one more year to run on their current deals, but the Tigers are working on keeping all the players who want to stay at the club and who they want to keep.

Powell explained: “We are talking to players about renewing contracts.

“Some boys have got to put some runs on the board early in the season, a couple of other players we are talking to already.

“We’ll just keep working through it.

“I think this is a great place to be at the moment.

“Players enjoy the environment and enjoy playing within this team and the way that it goes about its work and the way the team plays.

“That’s the biggest thing for me. I always wanted to play where I enjoyed it and the team fitted in to the way I wanted to play the game.”
