Castleford Tigers supporter dies after heart attack at ground

Tributes have been paid to a Castleford Tigers supporter who died after suffering a heart attack at the club’s game with Hull FC yesterday (Sunday).

Lifelong supporter Barry Knight, 69, of Ferrybridge, later died at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.

A club spokesman said: “The Castleford Tigers family has lost one if its devoted members and everyone at the club extends their sincere condolences to Barry’s family and friends.”

Tigers forward Grant Millington said on Twitter: “Terrible news about the gentleman who passed away today.

Condolences to his friends and family. It really puts things into perspective.”
