Youngsters in Castleford are jumping for joy after their playground reopened following an upgrade.
The play area near Three Lane Ends Community Primary School now features a new slide, climbing unit and swings after the £46,000 refurbishment.
It was carried out by Wakefield Council after leader Coun Peter Box visited pupils from the school earlier this year who had their say on what changes they wanted to see at the play area.
Coun Box said: “Local councillors saw that play area desperately needed updating and after consulting with the community we knew it was also a priority for local people.
“I am delighted the new play area is now finished and being enjoyed by our children.”
The play area on Jin Whin Hill now includes a multi-play unit, slide, swings, spinner, rocker and seating.
And new equipment has also been installed for older children aged up to 12-years-old.
That includes a big timber climbing unit, new ball games area a basketball hoop and target games.
All the equipment has been installed on top of rubber safety surfacing.
New fencing has also been fitted to secure the play area from dogs.
