A new Cinderella has stepped into save a panto society after their original star had to pull out.

Jade Appleton had been due to play the part in St Giles’ with St Mary’s Pantomime Society’s annual production, but discovered she had been accepted into the RAF and would have to leave to start her training.

In a storyline worthy of a fairytale, Beki Elcock was plucked from the chorus line to take the starring role at the last minute.

Wendy Underwood, producer, said: “Beki has done a remarkable job to date in learning the script.”

The show takes place at Pontefract Town Hall on January 13-18 at 7pm and a 2pm Saturday matinee. Tickets cost £8 and £6.50 concessions, email or call 07563 952832.
