Concern over woman after receipt found in River Calder tent

Police are appealing for a woman pictured to get in touch with officers to confirm she is safe and well.

A receipt from Poundland in Dewsbury was discovered near a purple tent found pitched on the banks of the River Calder.

Police want to identify the woman seen on CCTV at the store to check on her welfare.

The woman pictured, or anyone with information about her identity, are asked to call Kirklees District CID via 101.

Police are also continuing to appeal for a man to come forward who it is believed may have been living in the tent, which was found pitched on the river bank on Wednesday March 30.

Products found led officers to speak to a local supermarket, and it is believed the man pictured may have been living in the tent.

Detective Inspector Stef Wiseman of Kirklees CID said, “We are keen to speak to the man pictured to verify that it was him living in the tent, and that he is OK. If anyone can assist in identifying the man pictured, has seen or heard from him recently or knows where he is now, I would ask them contact Kirklees CID via 101. Enquiries are continuing.”
