AT a concert held at Carleton Grange Community Centre on Sunday March 25, £500 was raised for Cancer Research UK.
The event, presented by Altofts and Normanton Brass Band, has become an annual concert, hosted by musical director Ian Hartshorne.
The music ranged from Lennon and McCartney to Rossini and The Floral Dance.
An extra touch of class was added by Phillippa Hobbs (who usually plays trombone) who gave a wonderful rendition of Eva Cassidy’s version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Thanks to everyone who attended and also the many companies and individuals who donated an excellent array of quality raffle prizes.
