Crash victim named


POLICE have named the teenage crash victim who died after a smash on the A1 near Wentbridge Viaduct last Friday.

A police spokeswoman confirmed Thomas Edward Burrow, 19, died on Saturday May 12 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary after sustaining serious head injuries.

Police say Mr Burrow, of Wentbridge, was driving a Land Rover Defender when he was involved in a collision with a parked lorry in a lay-by on the south-bound carriageway near to junction 40 at around 8.40pm.

His 18-year-old passenger received minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have seen the Land Rover travelling south into the Darrington area prior to the incident is asked to call West Yorkshire Police’s major collision enquiry team on 101.
