Paris Boycott’s long blonde locks will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to make a wig for a child with the disease and the 12-year-old will also help Macmillan Cancer Support.

Former England and Yorkshire cricketer Mr Boycott has beaten both tongue and throat cancer whilst Paris’ great-grandmother Jane Boycott died of breast cancer before the youngster was born.

Proud mum Michelle Boycott, who will cheer her on with Paris’ twin sister Autumn, said: “Paris is so laid back so this doesn’t phase her and once she sets her mind to do something, she will do it.

“Now she is a bit older and at high school, I think Paris is learning more about cancer and understanding it.

“Cancer runs in her family and she’s realising now what it can do to people and is saddened by that, and especially by the fact children are suffering.

“It’s something she really wants to do and everyone is behind her. I’m very proud.”

Paris, who lives on Dewsbury Road, will have her hair shaved on December 23. To sponsor her, visit bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/paris-leigh-boycott
