Appeal: Boy, 7, hit by car in Wakefield

A seven-year-old boy was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Wakefield.

Police are appealing for the driver of a vehicle involved in the incident on Walnut Avenue in Wakefield to come forward.

Between 5.30pm and 6pm on Wednesday May 13, the youngster was involved in a collision with a dark coloured vehicle.

He suffered a serious but non life-threatening leg injury in the collision.

PC 659 Dan Baldwin of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Unit said: “The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and helped but then left the scene before providing any details.

“The driver is described as being a white female in her 40s with shoulder length blonde hair.”
