Body found close to River Aire
Police have recovered a body from a culvert close to the River Aire.
A passer-by spotted the body in Byram, near Ferrybridge, at around 1.15pm yesterday (Monday).
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended the scene and recovered the body. At this stage it is too early to say if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. It is also not possible to confirm whether the body is that of a man or a woman at this stage.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to determine how the person died and to establish their identity.”
