Members of the Castleford Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) gathered in the town centre this morning to begin offering advice to residents.

Dozens of people took advantage of the day of action to ask questions and raise concerns with officers.

As well as answering questions from members of the public, the team of officers and PCSOs offered leaflets with advice on staying safe and protecting their homes.

PC Thimm, who serves Castleford Town Centre, said there had been a "very positive" response to the day of action.

The team were also reminding people of the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) which is in place in the town centre.

Initially granted in 2017, and extended last year, the PSPO was set up to tackle street drinking, urinating and defecating in alleyways in the town, and has widely been considered a success.
