Timothy Gay, age 55, of Cavendish Avenue, Pontefract, admitted assaulting a female and causing actual bodily harm (ABH). He was given a community order with 200 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £175 in costs.

Jadine Riley, age 33, of Clarion Street, Wakefield, admitted four counts of thefts from shops in Castleford including perfume from Boots, cosmetics worth £152 from Savers and clothing worth £73 from Select. She was jailed for 26 weeks due to committing the offences while on a suspended sentence for thefts, and told to pay £128 in costs.

Paul Swithenbank, age 49, of Church Way, Crofton, admitted stealing two registration plates worth £50 and fined £150, and told to pay £30 costs.

Samantha Sharp, age 36, of Buckingham Court, Wakefield, admitted stealing items from The Range in Wakefield worth £76 and gin and beer worth £104 from Morrisons in The Ridings and failing to attend an assessment to determine if she is addicted to heroin and crack cocaine. She was given a community order with eight weeks’ electronic tag curfew, and told to pay £90 costs.

Liam Brown, age 23, of Verner Street, Featherstone, admitted phoning a female he was prohibited from contacting by a non-molestation order. He was fined £100 and told to pay £117 in costs.

Adam Craig Hartshorne, age 39, of Waterford Place, Normanton, admitted using racially-aggravated threatening or abusive words or behaviour and damaging a cash register worth £200. He was fined £300, told to pay £200 compensation and £117 in costs.

Amy Bedford, age 29, of Dunbar Street, Wakefield, admitted visiting an address she was prohibited from by an injunction. She was jailed for four weeks and told to pay £128 in costs.

Philip Gordon Thomson, age 42, of Lower Warrengate, Wakefield, was found guilty after a trial of criminal damage to a police vehicle, assaulting an officer, and admitted two counts of failing to surrender to custody. He was jailed for two months and told to pay £122 in costs.

Stephen Michael Bowes, age 26, of Leeds Road, Glass Houghton, Castleford, admitted trespassing into the Wonderful Chinese takeaway on Leeds Road and stealing food and containers. He was given a community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £200 in costs.

Jordan Davies, age 25, of Woodmoor Road, Wakefield, admitted dodging an £18 taxi fare and was fined £130, told to pay £9 compensation and £119 in costs.

Jessicah Leigh Mansfield, age 29, of Wharncliffe Road, Wakefield, admitted dodging an £18 taxi fare and possession of a knife in a public place. She was given 16 weeks’ jail, suspended for 12 months, and told to pay £9 compensation.

Bethany Horner, age 21, of Penrith Crescent, Castleford, admitted assaulting a police officer and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £106 in costs.

Shane Richard Stainburn, age 37, of Blands Terrace, Allerton Bywater, admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of children and possession of a prohibited image of a child. Five of the photos were classed as Category A, the most severe, 28 were Category B and 37 were Category C. He was given a community order and five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to prevent him owning an electronic internet device unless authorised by police, deleting his internet history or refusing inspection by police. He was also told to pay £170 in costs.

John Brady, age 45, of The Circle, Chequerfield, Pontefract, admitted two counts of theft including entering a garage and a property and stealing laptops, a sewing machine, a speaker, cordless drill and other items worth £1,470 in total. He was jailed for 18 weeks suspended for 12 months, given eight weeks’ electronic tag curfew and told to pay £500 compensation.

Scott Lee Bailey, age 31, of Tombridge Crescent, Kinsley, admitted failing to notify the authorities of a change of address after being given a community order for driving while banned. He was fined £40.

Joshua Lee Bedworth, age 18, of Arnside Crescent, Castleford, admitted riding dangerously on an off-road bike, failing to stop for police, not having a licence, insurance, number plate or test certificate. He was given a community order with 240 hours of unpaid work, banned from having a licence for 20 months and told to pay £175 in costs.

John Robinson, age 41, of Newstead View, Fitzwilliam, admitted assaulting a female and was given a community order with 80 hours of unpaid work, a one-year restraining order, told to pay £100 compensation to the victim and £180 in costs.

Kendell Gamble, age 23, of Airedale Road, Castleford, admitted contacting a person she was prohibited from doing by a non-molestation order and was given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £20 in costs.

Owen Joseph Nigel Farren, age 52, of Quarry Avenue, Knottingley admitted sending a text message and twice calling a female he was prohibited from by a restraining order that was imposed on July 9 for assaulting a police officer and a female. He was already jailed for eight weeks and was given another 12 weeks’ and told to pay £128 in costs.

Michael James Pearson, age 34, of Church Lane, Featherstone, failed to comply with a community order he was given for harassment and was jailed for 12 weeks.

Gavin Benjamin Wilkinson, age 44, of Whitmore Street, South Elmsall, admitting assaulting a female at Asda in South Elmsall and stealing a bottle of vodka and two bottles of wine from Bargain Booze on Barnsley Road, Pontefract. He was jailed for 12 weeks and told to pay £32.77 in compensation.

Robert Lee Purkiss, age 34, of Wood View Avenue, Castleford, admitted assaulting a police officer and was fined £80 and told to pay £117 in costs.

Terrance James Whiteside, age 32, of Carlton street, Wakefield, admitted driving while over the drug-drive limit for cannabis. He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and told to pay £32 in costs.
