COURT LISTS: Thief jailed for breaking into city shop and stealing till
Francine Hopkins, age 41, of Arundel Close, Wakefield, admitted stealing whiskey worth £46 from Sainsbury’s on Wakefield’s Ings Road. She was given a community order with drug- dependency treatment and told to pay £23 compensation.
Matthew Paul Byford, age 30, of Saville Street, Wakefield, admitted stealing blood pressure monitors worth £280 and baby monitors worth £120 from Boots in Wakefield, three bottles of Jack Daniels whisky worth £90 from Sainsbury’s on Ings Road, candles worth £50 from Trinity Walk and using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour. He was jailed for 32 weeks and told to pay £100 compensation.

Hide AdJerrard Priest, age 48, of Church Lane, Darrington, admitted failing to provide a breath test after being stopped by police. He was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £280, plus a further £80 for not having a reasonable excuse to have been outside during the Covid-19 lockdown regulation, and £119 in costs.
Danny Matthew Cross, age 30, of Queens Drive, Wakefield, admitted 10 counts of thefts totalling more than £328, including stealing chocolate, fabric softener and gin from various supermarkets. He also admitted stealing items of jewellery from a female, damaging a vending machine at Wakefield Bus Station and failing to surrender to custody. He was jailed for 24 weeks suspended for 12 months, and told to pay £122 in costs.
Alistair Taylor, age 54, of Aire Walk, Knottingley, admitted criminal damage to a door and given a 12-month conditional discharge, told to pay £100 compensation and given a one-year restraining order.
Rizwan Yakoob, age 33, of Castleford Road, Castleford, admitted possession of cannabis and two counts of breach of a restraining order. He was given a community order and told to pay £90 in costs.

Hide AdScott Rimmer, age 31, of Painthorpe Lane, Wakefield, was found guilty after a trial of trespassing at Hall Green Nurseries in Woolley with an intent steal. He was jailed for six months, suspended for 18 months, was given 240 hours of community service, and told to pay £126 in costs.
Danny Clayton, age 25, of School Street, Castleford, admitted damaging a police car audio set, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour and resisting arrest. He was fined £120 in total, told to pay £50 compensation and £119 in costs.
Carl Johnson, age 33, of Sutton Lane, Knottingley, admitted having 62 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath while behind the wheel. The legal limit is 35 mcgs. He was banned from driving for 16 months, fined £120 and told to pay £117 in costs.
James Ashley Allan Fido, age 20, of Smawthorne Road, Castleford, admitted assaulting a female and damaging her car. He was given a community order and told to pay £175 in costs.

Mohammed Irfan Nasir, age 23, of Harewood Road, Eastmoor, Wakefield, admitted failing to comply with a supervision requirement after being released from prison. He admitted trespassing into a shed and stealing a lawnmower, stealing a hose reel, three counts of damaging car wing mirrors on Arncliffe Road, Wakefield, and breaching a restraining order. He was jailed for six months and told to pay £122 in costs.
Damian Kevin Flanagan, age 30, of Roundwood Crest, Lupset, admitted assaulting a female by strangulation and was jailed for four months, suspended for two years, given a two-year restraining order and told to pay £213 in costs.

Sophie Leanne Sanderson, age 27, of King William Court, Castleford, admitted assaulting a female by beating her and was given a 12-month conditional discharge, told to pay £100 compensation and £106 in costs.
