Female assaulted by cyclist on village walking route

A female was assaulted by a cyclist on a popular walking route in Allerton Bywater, and police are appealing for information or CCTV footage.

She was attacked by the male on The Lines at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, February 10.

Police say CCTV from the area shows a male on a bike entering The Lines who is believed to be the attacker.

Entering through a gap in the fence on Manor House View, after the assault he cycles onto Doctors lane.

He was wearing a dark rainproof jacket on a black mountain bike with a ruck sack on his back.

A police spokesman said: "Can I please ask any resident with CCTV in the area to look at their cameras at 2.30pm to 2.40pm to see if he is caught on camera in the Millennium Village?

"He must have cycled through to get to Manor House View."
