Knife-point robbery leaves man injured on Wakefield street

A man was robbed at knife point on and left injured on a Wakefield street, police have said.

Officers were called to Grove Road shortly before 11am this morning after receiving a call that the 30-year-old victim had been found by a member of the public.

On arriving at the scene, officers established that the man had been the victim of a robbery in which his mobile phone had been taken from him.

There were reported to be three suspects, two men and a woman, all estimated to be in their 30s. One was reported to have been in possession of a knife.

During the incident, the victim sustained cuts and swelling to his face and was taken to Pinderfields Hospital for treatment.

The scene of the incident was cordoned off by police and officers are carrying out enquiries to identify the suspects.

Police are appealing for witnesses and log 469 of today refers.
