A man arrested on suspicion of starting a blaze at a house in Castleford has been released on bail.
The 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson following the fire at a property at Westfield Avenue yesterday (Monday).
Police investigating say the suspect broke into the house and set fire to items inside the property. There was nobody in the house at the time.

Firefighters had to force entry into the house and found the fire blazing in the upstairs bedrooms. Watch commander Daryl Schofield, of Castleford Fire Station, praised the work of his crew in tackling the fire.
DI Dave Rogerson, of Wakefield CID, said: “We are now looking for any potential witnesses, anyone with information should contact Wakefield CID via 101.”
