Man fined for urinating in street
A man has been fined after he was caught urinating in the street.
John Sutcliffe, 54, from Bawtry Close, Selby, appeared at York Magistrates Court today, Friday, may 21.
The offence took place in an alleyway leading from the Market Place in Selby towards Market Cross on October 27 last year.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of urinating in a public place contrary to the Byelaw for Good Rule & Government made under Section 235 of the Local Government Act 1972.
The Selby District Council brought the prosecution as part of its work to stamp out anti-social behaviour.
He was fined £40, ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and ordered to pay a contribution to the council’s costs of £170 - a total of £244.
