Man threatened with knife in Castleford robbery

A man was threatened with a knife in an attempted robbery in Castleford.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said they had been called at around 9.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, February 25) to reports of an attempted robbery close to Carlton Street.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by the suspect, who threatened him with a knife and asked for money.

The victim fled the scene and the suspect left in the opposite direction.

It is understood the incident took place under Tickle Cock Bridge, which passes under the railway lines in the town centre.

Enquiries are ongoing at this time.
