A man who went missing from his Knottingley home was found this morning (Wednesday).
Detectives began searching for Carl Edwards after he was last seen following a series of alleged domestic incidents on Monday at around midnight.
And a large scale police operation was launched to find him and extensive searches were carried out in both Pontefract and Wakefield.
But Mr Edwards, 47, was found safe and well in Wakefield.
DI Viv Segerius-Allick, of Wakefield CID, said: “Carl has now been located in the Wakefield area and taken to a place of safety for appropriate care from authorities.
“Due to information received we had real concerns for Carl and carried out extensive enquiries, including by armed officers to locate him.
“I want to thank both members of the public and Mr Edwards’ family for their support during the search to find him.
