Hide AdCorley was jailed for 10 years in October for the unprovoked and inexplicable attack on the family.
He burst into the house, just doors down from where he lived, around lunchtime on April 2.
He stabbed haulage worker, Lee Morgan 13 times before trying to get to his wife Nicola and their child who had hidden themselves in an upstairs bedroom, but managed to keep him out until the police arrived.
Lee has since made a recovery, but Nicola said the family still have no idea why Corley targeted them.
