Pensioners scammed by young teenage boy during sneak-in burglary.

Two pensioners fell victim to a distraction burglary by a young teenager and his older accomplice, police have said.

The elderly sisters, who live together in Knottingley, were distturbed at their home by a boy, who they say was around 14-years-old, who knocked on their door.

He told them he had lost his remote controlled helicopter, and asked if he could go into the back garden to look for it.

The sisters said they would help him look for it and followed him into the garden.

Whilst distracted by the boy an older male suspect sneaked into the property, through the open side door, and made his way upstairs into both bedrooms where he searched for valuables.

A large amount of cash was stolen. This male then made his way out and motioned for the boy to follow him.

They quickly left the address on foot.

It happened on Monday, June 15.
